I was a summer intern at Bellcore, Morristown, NJ in the year 1995.
I interned with the Databases and Formal Methods Research Group. I
built a suite of tools in tcl that parsed and validated pieces of
requirements documents (in Framemaker format). Furthermore, the
parsed outputs were entered into an Oracle database using SQL*Ldr. By
using a set of tools that I wrote in SQL, we were able to
cross-validate across different requirements documents. Carrying this
one step further, I also wrote tools using the Oracle reporting
package, Unimerge, to generate appendices to requirements documents
(in Framemaker) - the appendices are usually written manually and
prone to error. The project was important since it provided tools to
automate the generation of pieces of documents from other pieces, to
avoid as much error as possible
