This is a photo of the plane Small Fry. It was one of the planes that were based out of Saipan during WWII in the pacific theater. My grandfather was with the 73 wing, 498 group, 875 squadron in the USAF. I am not sure if this plane was also with them. It is my understanding that my grandfather flew this plane out to where they were stationed.
On back of photo it reads: ({words} in Margaret Denis' writing otherwise in Roger Denis' writing) "Buck Jan '46 in front of Small Fry and later ditched by Lt. Yielding {on Feb. 10th after a mission to Oto, Japan. Had a total of 8 missions over mainland [Japan]. Small Fry was flown in by us on Dec. 25th 1944}
